A shocking incident took place in Ujjain, where four men threw a labourer onto the railway tracks while trying to rob him of ₹500. A train coming from the opposite direction ran over him, severing one of his legs. The victim, identified as Lakhan Singh (35) from Paldoona near Maksi, lost consciousness immediately after the incident. He was later admitted to Charak Hospital in a critical condition. According to Lakhan, he worked as a daily wage labourer at Dewas Gate. Around 8 PM on Wednesday, after finishing work and collecting his dinner from Zero Point, he was walking back along the railway tracks when the attackers targeted him. Nearly 12 hours after the attack, police reached the hospital with the severed leg, which they had recovered from the tracks. The injured man has now been referred to Indore for advanced treatment. Just then, four miscreants stopped me under the Zero Point Bridge, assaulted me, and snatched the 500 rupees I had. The four of them assaulted me, held my hands and feet, placed me on the railway tracks, and did not let go until the train came close. In the incident, the train ran over my leg, injuring me and causing me to lose consciousness. During this time, the four miscreants fled. When I regained consciousness, I saw an ambulance standing in front of me and some policemen. When I was being taken to the ambulance with the help of the policemen, I told them that my leg was missing, but no one listened and I was admitted to the hospital, leaving my leg there. GRP ASI Sawan Singh informed that after the youth’s leg was delivered to the hospital, he was referred to Indore considering his serious condition. His severed leg has also been sent there so that it can be reattached.
