The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday announced disciplinary actions against several players from India and Pakistan following Code of Conduct breaches during the ICC Asia Cup 2025, which saw multiple heated moments across their September clashes, with Haris Rauf facing a two-match ban. In the first India-Pakistan match on September 14, India captain Suryakumar Yadav and Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf were fined 30% of their match fees and handed two demerit points each for conduct that as per ICC brought the game into disrepute. Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan was issued an official warning and received one demerit point. Arshdeep cleared of wrongdoing in second game During the September 21 encounter, Indian speedster Arshdeep Singh was found not guilty of using any obscene or offensive gesture. The ICC Match Referee dismissed the charge and no sanction was imposed. Bumrah warned, Rauf suspended after final In the Asia Cup final on September 28, Jasprit Bumrah accepted a charge under Article 2.21 for conduct bringing the game into disrepute. He received an official warning and one demerit point. Rauf was again found guilty of the same offence and fined 30% of his match fee, earning two additional demerit points. With four demerit points accumulated within 24 months, Rauf faces two suspension points and will miss Pakistan’s ODIs against South Africa on November 4 and 6, 2025. ICC stresses on maintaining spirit of the game The ICC said the sanctions reflect its commitment to maintaining discipline and upholding the spirit of the game, particularly in high-pressure contests like India vs Pakistan.
