Satna MP Ganesh Singh lost his temper and slapped a crane operator during a public event on Friday. The incident took place at a programme marking Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary. A video of the altercation has since gone viral, sparking political criticism and debate. MP stuck in air after crane jerk In the morning, MP Ganesh Singh took part in the ‘Run for Unity’. Later, he reached Semaria Chowk in Satna to garland Dr B. R. Ambedkar’s statue.He climbed into the hydraulic box of a crane belonging to the municipal corporation’s electrical branch. However, while coming down after placing the garland, the crane suddenly stopped with a jolt. For a few moments, the MP was stuck mid-air. When the machine started again, it moved unevenly, causing imbalance. Operator slapped in front of crowd Angry over the incident, the MP called the crane operator, Ganesh Kushwaha, towards him. As the operator approached, the MP pulled his hand and slapped him in front of everyone. Kushwaha is a muster roll employee in the municipal corporation’s electrical department. Several BJP workers, administrative officials, and local citizens witnessed the scene. One of them recorded the entire incident on a mobile phone.
Video of the incident goes viral The video shows MP Ganesh Singh getting down from the crane, calling the operator, and slapping him on the cheek. The clip quickly spread on social media, drawing sharp reactions from the public and opposition parties. Congress condemns the act The Congress party strongly criticised the MP’s behaviour.State spokesperson Abhinav Baroliya said the act reflected the arrogance of BJP leaders. He stated, “The MP slapping a municipal worker shows how conceited BJP leaders have become. This proves the party is no longer for the people, but only for its own pride.”
