Police in Chhatarpur have arrested a man named Farhan Nizami for making an abusive video about the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). The video, recorded near Babulal Chaturvedi Stadium on Wednesday morning, quickly went viral. Members of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Bajrang Dal, and RSS filed a complaint, leading to Farhan’s arrest within hours. Video contained abusive comments In his video, Farhan used foul language against the RSS. He said, “Look brother, this RSS gang is leaving. We came here when their shakha (branch meeting) was going on, and they ran away after seeing us.” He also spoke about hitting RSS members with slippers and said, “Let the time come, their name and trace will be erased.” Farhan further called the RSS a ‘herd of donkeys’ and claimed that its members did nothing for the country and did not fight for freedom. Complaint filed by VHP and RSS workers After the video surfaced, workers from Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal, and the RSS gathered at the Civil Line Police Station. They filed a formal complaint against Farhan, accusing him of insulting the organisation and spreading hatred. VHP Divisional Minister Prakhar Bhatt said that the RSS’s Shri Ram Tarun Vyavsayi Shakha meets regularly at the stadium. According to him, Farhan arrived there, abused the organisation’s members, and threatened to kill them. He also alleged that Farhan was carrying an illegal weapon and tried to create tension in the city. Police action and legal charges Following the complaint, Civil Line Police Station in-charge Satish Singh took swift action. Farhan was arrested and a case was registered under Sections 2023, 296, and 353(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Section 67 of the Information Technology (Amendment) Act, 2000. CSP Arun Kumar Soni confirmed the arrest. He said that the video contained derogatory and abusive remarks against the RSS and that further investigation is underway. Authorities condemn the incident Officials said the language used in the video was highly objectionable and aimed at disturbing communal harmony. Police are also checking whether the accused has any past criminal record or links to other anti-social activities.
