Panic spread through the Gautam Nagar area of Bhopal late Tuesday night, when a man aged 41 was found dead at his house in Sheetal Nagar colony of the area, the police said on Wednesday. As per police, the man was employed at a private hospital and was suffering from depression. The police added that anti-depressant tablets and medicines were recovered from the spot too. Man identified as Sanjay Verma Hanumanganj ACP Rakesh Baghel told Bhaskar English that the man who was found dead has been identified as Sanjay Verma (41). Verma was unmarried, and was a resident of Bhopal. He used to work at a private hospital in the city. The police were alerted by Verma’s neighbours on Tuesday, who had sensed a foul smell coming from his home. The Gautam Nagar police rushed to the scene, and found the door locked from inside. They broke the door open to find Verma lying on his sofa in a naked condition. Preliminary probe suggests Verma used to experience panic attacks The ACP went on to say that anti-depressants and medicines were found from the scene, which were seized by the police. Verma’s neighbours told the police that he had been suffering from depression. According to the ACP, no injury marks were found on Verma’s body. A preliminary probe carried out by the police revealed that Verma used to experience panic attacks. Body sent for post-mortem According to the Gautam Nagar police, Verma was unmarried and resided alone at his residence. As of Wednesday, the police have sent his body to the Hamidia hospital mortuary for post-mortem, and are awaiting the report, to probe the case further.
