Former India ODI captain Rohit Sharma was crowned as the newest number 1 ODI batsman in the latest ICC rankings released on Wednesday. The Hitman jumped two places to become the new leader in the men’s ODI rankings, while pushing Ibrahim Zadran of Afghanistan into second place. Rohit failed to shine in the first ODI against Australia in Perth, managing just 8 runs, but he scored 73 in the second match and slammed his 50th international hundred in Sydney. A half-century and a ton during the last week propelled the 38-year-old to the top of the men’s ICC ODI rankings. Rohit became the fifth Indian to become the world number 1 in ODI rankings, after Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, and Shubman Gill. IND vs AUS 1st T20I live updates (More to follow..)
