A two-year-old boy suffered severe burns after falling into a wok of boiling oil at a samosa stall inside Bageshwar Dham, Chhatarpur district, on Monday evening. His grandmother also sustained burns on her hands while trying to rescue him. Both have been admitted to the district hospital, where doctors say the child’s condition is critical. Fell from grandmother’s lap after bulls collided The accident took place in the Bamitha police station area.According to reports, Hariom Vaishnav, a resident of Kishangarh in Ajmer (Rajasthan), had come to visit Bageshwar Dham with his two-year-old son Raghav and his mother Sarita. In the evening, they stopped at a handcart samosa shop within the temple premises. At that time, two bulls standing nearby started fighting. Their collision caused panic among visitors. During the commotion, Raghav slipped from his grandmother’s lap and fell directly into a wok of boiling oil kept at the stall. Grandmother’s hands burnt while saving grandson Seeing the child fall, Sarita immediately rushed to pull him out. However, her hands got severely burnt by the hot oil.Onlookers quickly came to help, and the temple’s volunteers called an ambulance. Both the injured were taken to the district hospital for treatment. Doctor says child’s condition critical Dr Roshan Dwivedi, posted in the burn ward of the district hospital, said that the child’s condition remains critical and he is under intensive treatment.However, the grandmother has refused medical treatment for her burns, despite being advised by doctors.
