Parents stabbed brutally in front of child in Jabalpur:6-year-old son witnessed attack by father’s brother; 53 knife wounds inflicted on both couple

A six-year-old boy named Adarsh ran in terror, shouting, “Chacha killed mom… take me to the police!” His father, Sanjay Chaudhary, and mother, Babita, were attacked with knives by his younger uncle, Bablu Chaudhary, right in front of him. The post-mortem report revealed a horrifying total of 53 stab wounds on the couple. Sanjay’s brother-in-law, Mahendra, said, “Sanjay always did everything for his younger brother. He funded his education and arranged his marriages. But that very brother, out of greed, drove the entire family to death.” Father’s love overshadowed by younger brother’s greed 45-year-old Sanjay Chaudhary had shouldered his family responsibilities from a young age. After losing his mother in childhood, he became the support for his father, Jagan, and younger brother Bablu, helping sustain the family. Sanjay started a homemade snack manufacturing unit at home. When Bablu expressed interest in working there, Sanjay insisted, “Your job is to study; you need to become an engineer.” Sanjay also arranged Bablu’s first marriage, which ended in divorce after a few months. He organized a second marriage for Bablu and even gave him a separate room, but Bablu’s eyes remained on the factory and land. Over the past few months, this dispute escalated, leading Babita to attempt suicide by hanging herself due to the stress. Sister tries to mediate: Dispute over factory land On Thursday evening, Sanjay and Bablu’s sister, Seema, who lives in Jabalpur, came to their home. A dispute over the factory land erupted again in her presence. With some relatives, the brothers agreed to divide the factory into two parts, each managing their own section. The factory, spanning approximately 1,000 sq. ft., was split in writing to resolve the issue. Killing unfolds before the son’s eyes On Friday morning, around 7 AM, Bablu left, and Sanjay began work. Around 11 AM, Bablu returned to Sanjay’s room with a knife, hurling abuses. Babita tried to calm him, but Bablu began stabbing them relentlessly. Sanjay attempted to flee, but Bablu chased and stabbed both parents repeatedly until they succumbed to their injuries. The entire horrifying incident was witnessed by Sanjay’s younger son, six-year-old Adarsh, who hid and covered his mouth in fear to avoid screaming.
Child alerts police Adarsh ran outside and told a passerby, “Uncle, take me to the police, Chacha killed mom.” The child was brought to Ghamapur Police Station, where he narrated the whole incident. Sanjay and Babita were immediately taken to the district hospital, where doctors declared them dead. The couple had two sons: the elder, Naman (10), resides with his grandmother, and the younger, Adarsh (6), witnessed the tragedy. From laborer to factory owner: Family background Mahendra, the deceased couple’s brother-in-law, revealed that Sanjay initially worked as a laborer in shops. Later, he and his father started a homemade snack factory. Bablu occasionally helped with packing, for which Sanjay paid him 200 INR per day. Disputes over the factory began a few years later. Meanwhile, on Friday evening, with police presence, the deceased couple Sanjay and Babita were given their last rites. Quotes from relatives and community Mahendra said, “Sanjay always prioritized family over himself. It’s unimaginable that Bablu would turn so violent, bringing tragedy to everyone.” An eyewitness added, “Even as he attacked, people pleaded with Bablu to stop, but he didn’t listen and continued stabbing mercilessly.” Ongoing investigation Authorities are investigating the motive, focusing on the dispute over factory property and ancestral land. The police have urged anyone with information about Bablu Chaudhary’s whereabouts to come forward.
