CM Yadav pays tribute to martyred cops:Says- ‘Those who lost lives will forever inspire through courage’; event held on Police Commemoration Day 2025

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Mohan Yadav on Tuesday paid heartfelt tribute to the martyred police personnel of the state on the occasion of Police Commemoration Day 2025. The event was held at the Shaheed Smarak at the Lal Parade Ground in Bhopal. He said that the valour, discipline, and sense of service displayed by the fallen officers will continue to inspire generations. Recalling the 1959 Hot Springs incident in Ladakh, where ten brave policemen sacrificed their lives defending India’s borders, CM Yadav said their courage was equivalent to that of “ten thousand soldiers.” He described the commemoration as a “festival of duty and sacrifice,” asserting that those who lay down their lives in the line of duty achieve true immortality. CM underscores MP Police’s excellence The Chief Minister, during his address, praised the Madhya Pradesh Police for its vigilance, discipline, and contribution to peacekeeping. He said the state’s reputation as an “island of peace” was due to its police force’s efforts in controlling Naxalism, organised crime, cyber offences, and crimes against women. He thereafter cited successful operations, including the elimination of ten wanted Naxalites worth Rs 1.5 crore in rewards, and the arrest of Jaipur blast accused, as examples of exemplary policing. He expressed confidence in achieving the national goal of eliminating Naxalism by 2026. Welfare, modernisation, and training prioritised The CM highlighted ongoing reforms such as CCTNS integration, linking all police stations online under the Integrated Criminal Justice System. He also mentioned housing projects worth Rs 5,700 crore under the Chief Minister Housing Scheme, and recruitment of 21,000 new positions over the next three years. He commended the police’s public outreach initiatives, such as ‘Srijan’ for child protection, ‘Safe Click–Surakshit Jeevan’ for cyber awareness, and ‘Nashe Se Door Hai Zaroori’ for drug prevention, terming them as examples of community policing. MP DGP pays tribute to 11 martyrs of 2025 Meanwhile, MP’s Director General of Police (DGP) Kailash Makwana honoured the memory of 11 officers who laid down their lives this year, stating that the department remains committed to the welfare and dignity of their families. The event concluded with wreath-laying, parade salutes, and tributes by senior and retired police officials. Bhopal Mayor Malti Rai, ACS Dr Rajesh Rajoura, and family members of the martyred cops were present on the occasion.
