Family chased, beaten nearly to death in Morena:9 assaulted by goons over land dispute; minor films attack, pleads for mercy

Nine members of a family, including three women, were attacked with sticks in a field over land occupation. The injured have been admitted to the district hospital. A minor girl captured the horrific incident on video, pleading with God to save her family. Despite the family submitting a complaint two days earlier, police inaction allowed the assault to happen. Attack over one and a half bigha land On Tuesday morning, village goons Dharmendra Gurjar, Kishan Gurjar, and their companions came with tractors to forcibly occupy one and a half bigha of land in Chhauda village, Morena. The land is already under a court stay order. When the family protested, the attackers became violent and brutally beat them with sticks. Women were not spared, and the family’s minor child was present, running in fear across the field. A tractor is seen standing in the field while people lie semi-conscious on the ground. The girl continuously calls out, “Re Kanha ji, save the family.” The video shows attackers raining blows on men and women. Some victims are lying in bushes or on the field, trying to shield themselves. Victims speak out Kamal Singh Prajapati, admitted to the hospital, said the attack was due to the land dispute. “Dharmendra Gurjar wants to forcibly occupy our land. The case has been ongoing in court for two years, and we had submitted complaints to Civil Lines police several times,” he said. Meena Prajapati added, “If the police had acted on our complaint, this attack could have been prevented. Nine members of my family were injured, including Kamal, Parimal, Kuldeep, Ram Khiladi, Meena, Ravi, Lakhan, Pooja, and Sunita.” Police inaction raises questions The family submitted an application to ASI Preeti Jadon on 19 October demanding action against the accused. When questioned, the SI reportedly asked a reporter, “Are you the victim’s lawyer?” She added that she cannot track all applications and her job is only to receive them. Higher officers take note After the reporter informed ASP Surendra Pratap Singh Dawar about the SI’s response, the ASP said he would check with the station in-charge. He confirmed that if the application had been received, action should have been taken immediately. Previous threats by accused The victims’ application states that on 26 September 2025, Dharmendra Gurjar, along with 8-10 people, tried to forcibly occupy their land. They threatened the family, saying they would kill anyone who tried to cultivate it. Kamal Singh wrote, “We earn our livelihood by farming. Our agricultural land, Survey No. 161 (0.16 hectares) and Survey No. 572 (0.38 hectares), is at risk. Please take appropriate action.”
