Continuing its legacy of excellence in cleanliness, the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) has once again been honoured at the 5th State-Level Swachhata Samman Samaroh and Workshop, held under the Swachhata Samagra Programme in Bhopal. In recognition of its outstanding performance in maintaining sanitation and urban hygiene, IMC was conferred the state-level ‘Swachhata Samman’ for emerging as the ‘Swachhata ka Sirmaur’ (cleanliness champion) in the Super Swachh League 2024. The award was presented by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Minister of State for Urban Development and Housing Pratibha Bagri to Commissioner Dilip Kumar Yadav and health in-charge Ashwin Shukla, who received it on behalf of the corporation. He further emphasized that the ‘Indore model’ of waste segregation, recycling, and public participation stands as a replicable framework for other cities aspiring to achieve sustainable cleanliness. IMC also wins housing performance award Along with its top cleanliness honour, the Indore Municipal Corporation was also awarded the Best Performance Award under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Month. IMC was recognized for its efficient implementation of the housing scheme, timely distribution of benefits, and transparent execution process, ensuring that beneficiaries received their entitlements without delay. Officials and stakeholders felicitated The award ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including additional commissioner Rohit Sisonia, executive engineer Ashwin Janwade, and Swachh Bharat Mission representatives Shraddha Tomar and Amit Dubey. Sanitation workers, including women Safai Mitras, were also felicitated for their frontline contribution in keeping Indore clean and green. In the overall cleanliness ranking, Ahmedabad secured first place, followed by Bhopal in second.
