madrasa-construction-on-govt-land-demolished-in-jabalpur:woman-was-carrying-out-the-work;-funding-allegedly-linked-to-transgender-person

On Monday, the Jabalpur administration removed an encroachment of a madrasa being built on government land in Ayesha Nagar, under Adhartal tehsil. The land, belonging to Kudwari village, had been encroached upon for nearly a year. The foundation of the madrasa had already been laid before authorities intervened. The demolition was carried out in the presence of the Tehsildar, SDOP, and the in-charge of Adhartal police station. The action followed complaints from Hindu organisations regarding the encroachment. Details of the construction The construction, carried out by a woman named Takseem Bano, covered approximately 950 square feet on survey number 135 of Kudwari village. According to the administration, notices and eviction orders had been issued earlier but were not followed. On Monday, the demolition team removed the pillars and other construction materials from the site. A panchnama was prepared, and further investigation is ongoing. Deputy Tehsildar Ramesh Kumar Koshthi stated that no one was present at the site during the demolition, and Takseem Bano will be questioned about the purpose of the construction. Allegations of funding Hindu Dharma Sena activist Manoj Rajak alleged that a transgender person was funding the madrasa. He said that the entire land in Ayesha Nagar is government-owned and is gradually being encroached upon. According to Rajak, the madrasa would have been completed within a few days had it not been removed. Broader encroachment issue Officials noted that much of the land in Kudwari village is government property and is being encroached upon for building purposes. The administration acts only on complaints received, but the Deputy Tehsildar emphasised that immediate action will be taken against anyone reported to be encroaching.
