Twelve suspected Bangladeshi nationals, who had been living in Beelpura village in the old cantonment area for years, have mysteriously disappeared. The incident comes amid police surveillance, and their documents were sent for verification. Before the police could receive the report, all twelve went missing along with Abrar Khan, who had allegedly been sheltering them. Living conditions and work of the suspects The missing individuals had been residing near the Rayru Distillery area, engaging in scavenging garbage or doing odd labor work. During ‘Operation Sindoor’, the police had identified 94 suspicious individuals from West Bengal and Bihar. However, these 12 were not part of that initial survey. When their documents were found suspicious, the police began further verification. Currently, tracking data indicates that some of the fugitives are in Chennai, while others are in Kolkata. Earlier arrests and emerging pattern The incident follows the recent arrest of eight Bangladeshi nationals near the Maharajpura Air Force Station. During Operation Sindoor, the Madhya Pradesh Police began a confidential survey of suspects in the area. When authorities approached the 12 individuals in Beelpura, fearing possible apprehension, they fled the town quietly. Police sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed that attempts to contact the suspects via their registered mobile numbers have been unsuccessful. Local shelter and political allegations According to Abodh Singh Tomar, district general secretary of the Janhit Party, the suspects were reportedly sheltered by Abrar Khan. The 12 individuals were living in a dilapidated structure, collecting scrap and garbage for livelihood. By the time the authorities arrived, the suspects had vanished, leaving their belongings behind, and Abrar Khan was also missing. Detention center to be established Following the discovery of Bangladeshi nationals in Gwalior district, the administration plans to establish a permanent detention center. Earlier, temporary detention facilities were set up at Gwalior Central Jail and the Police Line. A permanent center may soon be established within the jail premises. Deputy District Magistrate C.B. Prasad confirmed that an official order regarding the detention center will be issued on Monday. Police statement CSP of Maharajpura Circle, Nagendra Singh Sikarwar, said, “Around 12 individuals with suspected citizenship were living in the old cantonment area. Their sudden disappearance is not a recent incident but remains under investigation. They were indeed suspicious.” Post navigation Farmer sets self ablaze over land dispute in Bhopal:Dies during treatment, police send body for autopsy; his family accuses relatives of provocation Madrasa construction on govt land demolished in Jabalpur:Woman was carrying out the work; funding allegedly linked to transgender person
