EOW takes strict action against Gaurav Grih Sanstha:Crores of land allegedly usurped by colluding with builders and creating fake members in Bhopal

Bhopal’s Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) has uncovered a huge scam in Gaurav Grih Nirman Sahakari Sanstha Maryadit. The society worked with help from some Cooperative Department officials. An FIR has been filed against the society’s former president, Santosh Jain, the builder of Shubhalay Villa, and several officials. They are accused of fraud, forgery, and conspiracy. The EOW investigation shows that Santosh Jain and the builder removed original society members, created fake members, and illegally handed over over five acres of society land to the builder. Contract with builder without tender process
The investigation found that Santosh Jain entered into a contract with M/s Shubhalaya Villa on June 30, 2004, without adopting any tender process or obtaining the approval of the general body. The first three pages of the contract were found to be forged, bearing no witness signatures. Most of the society’s land was given to the builder, and only 44 plots were left for the original members. Furthermore, the size of the plots was reduced from 2400 and 1500 sq ft to 1200 sq ft. The EOW investigation also revealed that no genuine quotations were sought from any builder; instead, fake quotations were later prepared in the names of Mangalmay and Priyadarshini Builders and attached to the file. Santosh Jain forged the resolutions of the society’s general body meetings to show that he had received permission to enter into an agreement with the builder, whereas no such resolution existed in the meetings held on 18.06.2004, 22.05.2005, and 26.02.2006. EOW’s investigation also found the role of the then Deputy Commissioner of the Cooperative Department, Bablu Satankar, to be suspicious. He overlooked the irregularities of the institution and registered plot number 07 in the name of his wife, Sunita Satankar. This proved that he himself was a participant in this illegal gain. Similarly, the then President of the institution, Anita Bist Bhatt, also supported Santosh Jain’s fraudulent schemes and cooperated in the illegal sale.
