Shivraj says ministers change, Mama remains constant:Claims elections are near, fundraising happens across India; key political decisions postponed over voter-related concerns

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan joined a program on One Nation-One Election at SIRT in Bhopal. Retired High Court Judge and MP BJP’s State Convenor for One Nation-One Election Rohit Arya, SAGE Group Director Sanjeev Agrawal, and Yuva Morcha State Vice President Ranjit Singh Chouhan were also present. Before the minister spoke, children chanted slogans. Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, “Which minister has come here? Ministers come and go, but Mama (uncle) is permanent. That is why Mama has come here.” When elections come, fundraising begins
Shivraj said – When elections are held repeatedly, four and a half lakh crore rupees are spent from the treasury in Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections. This is spent through the budget, but then there are posters, banners, rallies, helicopters, vehicles, and then money is collected as donations. ‘Bring donations’, fundraising goes on across the country, political parties spend separately. When they spend separately, where will the money come from? It will be collected. When elections come, they start mentioning even sub-castes
Shivraj said – When elections happen, they look for issues, and what issues do they look for? Casteism, linguism. Normally, caste is not known, but when elections come, caste, its sub-caste. ‘Give us so many tickets, our number is this much.’ Once I was on the ticket distribution committee. People of one caste got tickets, in the evening others came saying they didn’t get any. We said that tickets had been given, and they replied, ‘Those are others, our sub-caste is different.’ God knows what all they come up with, and thus casteism increases. The only solution to all these problems is to amend the constitution and hold Lok Sabha and Assembly elections once every 5 years. Decisions are often taken to entice the public
Shivraj said – No political party takes decisions that are for the long-term good of the country. Often, decisions are taken to entice the public. One party says, ‘I will break the stars from the sky and bring them for you.’ The other party says, ‘I won’t break the stars, I’ll put them right in your pocket.’ There’s a competition. They think, ‘How do I win the election?’ It’s not just the police who are on duty during elections. If a voter list needs to be made, the Collector says, ‘Teachers, come,’ and anganwadi workers, teachers, doctors, everyone gets involved in making the voter list. Officers don’t work, teachers don’t teach. Everywhere, only elections are happening. People in developed countries covered their bodies with leaves
Shivraj said – India is an extremely ancient and great nation. There was a time when there was darkness of ignorance in the world. At that time, we had universities like Nalanda and Taxila. When people in countries called developed nations used to cover their bodies with tree leaves and bark, silk and muslin were already being made here. Responded to the world regarding nuclear weapons
Shivraj Singh Chouhan said- Nowadays, the nuclear weapons we hear about, if you read in the Mahabharata, there were Brahmastra, Agneyastra, Varunastra. If the Sudarshan Chakra went out from a finger, it would cut off a head and return. Our archers were such that they would shoot arrows, which would hit the target and return. When was the Pushpak Viman made? Lord Ram came to Ayodhya sitting in the Pushpak Viman from Lanka. The Wright brothers made the airplane in 1919, but the science of our India was very advanced. However, due to the slavery of the Mughals and the British, India fell far behind. Today, under the leadership of Modi ji, India is rapidly moving forward. Whether anything else happens or not, elections are always ongoing.
The Union Agriculture Minister said- In our country, whether anything else happens or not, but all five years, 12 months, 365 days, leaders remain engaged in election preparations. One election doesn’t even finish, and another election comes. Almost two years ago, elections were held in MP, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan. At that time, I was the Chief Minister. From January, all work stopped and election preparations began. Then the Model Code of Conduct was imposed. Those elections were held, and after that, the Model Code of Conduct for the Lok Sabha elections was imposed. Now no work can be done. After the Lok Sabha elections, elections for Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Maharashtra came. They hadn’t even finished when the battle for Delhi began. Now elections have started in Bihar. When they finish in Bihar, elections will be held in Bengal. In our country, always, 12 months a year, whether any other work happens or not, election preparations keep going on. Parties remain focused on winning elections
Shivraj said – Whenever there are elections, political parties’ minds are solely focused on winning elections. I became the Agriculture Minister of India, but I remained engaged in the elections of Maharashtra, Jharkhand. So I could not do the work of farming. The party ordered me to go for elections, so Mama kept saying for three months, ‘Press the button of the lotus flower’. From the Prime Minister to the Chief Ministers of states, ministers, MPs, MLAs, and not just leaders are involved. Officers are also put on duty. Shivraj said – The police then do not catch thieves they get involved in election arrangements. All development work comes to a halt. Officers get an excuse that nothing can be done right now, as elections are going on. The time that we could spend on the country’s progress and development is spent only on election campaigning. Big decisions cannot be made due to elections
The Union Agriculture Minister said- Then when elections happen repeatedly, big policy decisions cannot be made. When any party feels that there are elections in six months, then if a tough and big decision has to be taken for the progress and development of the country, everyone gets scared. Don’t do it, there are elections in Bihar, lest votes be lost. Let whatever is going on, continue.
