Woman sets herself and 5-month-old son on fire:Both die during treatment in Indore; police investigate after marital dispute reportedly triggered the tragedy

In Indore’s Rau area, a 25-year-old woman, Suman, set herself on fire while holding her 5-month-old son, Pratham, on Thursday evening. They were taken to Choithram Hospital, but the baby died that night and Suman on Friday afternoon. Their post-mortem was done at the district hospital, and Suman’s brother performed the last rites. Rau police said the woman poured petrol on herself with her son in her arms. Neighbours rushed them to the hospital, but both could not be saved. Dispute between couple came to light A dispute between the couple has emerged as the reason behind the incident. Suman’s husband Kailash, works as a tailor in a factory. The deceased and her family are originally from Bhopal. The two got married in 2022. It is being reported that there were frequent disputes between husband and wife. Currently, Rau police is investigating the entire matter. Action will be taken based on PM report ACP Gandhi Nagar Niti Saxena said that yesterday, information was received that two bodies in burnt condition had arrived at Choithram Hospital. A case has been registered at the police station regarding this. Further action will be taken based on the post-mortem report.
