20 armed men storm Gwalior family’s home, abduct pregnant woman:Mastermind enraged over victim’s marriage elsewhere; police launch manhunt

In Gwalior, a miscreant, along with about 20 associates, reached Gurja village carrying weapons. Here, they raided a house. Some people entered the house, while the rest of the associates kept firing outside. They assaulted the family members, then abducted their pregnant daughter-in-law. The incident took place on Wednesday night. After the incident, there is an atmosphere of terror throughout the village. According to Tighra police, Yogendra Gurjar alias Yogi, a resident of Tilaunda in Morena district, was engaged to Reena alias Anju. Due to his criminal activities, Reena’s family members broke off the engagement. Reena was married to Girraj Gurjar (23) of Gurja village about one and a half years ago. After the engagement broke off and Reena got married elsewhere, Yogi decided to take revenge. He had threatened that he would kill Girraj and marry Reena. Beaten with gun butts and sticks
Around 8:30 PM on Wednesday night, Yogi, along with his associates Kalli alias Kiledar, DP, Tahsila, Sheru, Bhola, Bijji, Satyaveer, and Pradeep, and more than 20 armed miscreants, reached Girja village. Some miscreants got out of the vehicles and started firing outside the house. 8 to 10 miscreants entered the house and mercilessly beat Girraj’s father Brijlal (50), mother Bhagwati, grandmother Dhanwanti (80), and uncle Rameshwar (32) with gun butts and sticks. The rest continued firing outside the house. The miscreants forcibly abducted Reena, the 9-month pregnant daughter-in-law, and fled. Reena’s delivery is due in a few days
Reena’s husband Girraj said, Yogi came with his associates and suddenly started firing. Wife Reena is pregnant and only 8-10 days are left for delivery. I just want my wife and unborn child to return home safely. Yogi had also fired shots during the wedding. The wedding was then conducted under police supervision. He had threatened me that he would not let the baraat (groom’s procession) reach. He is a rebel, he has threatened to kill me many times before. Police searching for the accused
As soon as information about the incident was received, police officials reached the spot with heavy force, but by then the culprits had fled. Currently, the police are searching for the culprits with the help of nearby areas and CCTV footage. SI Gautam Sen informed that Yogi Gurjar is a notorious criminal from Morena and Shivpuri, against whom several serious crimes including murder, robbery, and dacoity are registered. Police force has been deployed in the village for security.
