Bhopal’s Gautam Nagar police on Wednesday arrested two alleged drug traffickers and seized 13.48 kilograms of cannabis valued at Rs 2.6 lakh from their possession, the police said on Thursday. The arrests, as per police, were made following a tip-off near Resham Kendra Gol Ghere in the Gautam Nagar area. Arrest based on tip-off Gautam Nagar police station in-charge Mahendra Singh Thakur said that on October 8, 2025, police received information from an informer that two youths carrying trolley bags containing cannabis were loitering in the locality in search of buyers. Acting swiftly, a police team laid a trap and nabbed the duo. The arrested accused were identified as Mohammad Rehan (21) and Mohammad Mohin (20). The police learnt that both the accused are native residents of the Meerut town in Uttar Pradesh. Cannabis recovered, case registered Police recovered a total of 13.48 kg of cannabis from their possession. The contraband, estimated to be worth Rs 2.6 lakh, was seized and taken into custody. A case has been registered under Sections 8/20 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The accused were produced before the court for judicial remand.
