Tragedy unfolded in the Jatkhedi area of Bhopal’s Misrod late Sunday night when a female Class 11 student died after falling from the seventh floor of a residential building, the police said. As per police, the girl, identified as Aradhya Saxena, was staying with her uncle in Jatkhedi. According to police, Aradhya had gone to the terrace after dinner around 11 pm, telling her family she wanted to take a walk. Moments later, she was found lying on the ground under suspicious circumstances. The police learnt that the fall resulted in her death on the spot itself. Family rushed girl to hospital Aradhya’s family members told the police that they immediately rushed her to a nearby hospital. However, doctors declared her dead upon examination. Following hospital authorities’ alert, Misrod police reached the spot, collected the body, and sent it for post-mortem at AIIMS Bhopal. On Monday morning, the body was handed over to the family after the autopsy. Circumstances under scanner “The exact reason behind her fall remains unclear,” Misrod police station house officer (SHO) Sandeep Pawar told Bhaskar English. The police have registered a case of unnatural death and have initiated an investigation. Statements from family members are being recorded, and CCTV footage from the building is being examined to establish whether the incident was an accident or involved any foul play, the police said. Senior police officials said that clarity on the cause of death will emerge only after all testimonies and evidence are reviewed.
