Gwalior’s Gajraraja Medical College (GRMC) is not only counted among the state’s selected medical colleges but also always remains in the headlines. Nowadays, this college is famous for the fight for dominance. A new trend has now emerged in the medical college. The senior student or group that has a larger number of junior students will have more prestige. The fight for prestige and dominance has escalated so much that it has now reached the point of physical assault. The matter of asserting dominance came to light when two senior groups clashed to take eight new GMRC students to their hostel. There was a fierce fight among these medical students. When the GRMC Dean found out, both parties apologized and settled the matter, but late at night, they fought again and also registered a case against each other at Kampu Police Station without informing the Dean, Warden, or Assistant Warden. Seeing the matter escalate, GRMC Dean Dr. RKS Dhakad has also issued orders to suspend all 26 seniors from the hostel. He has also spoken of action against 8 junior students. However, to resolve the dispute, all students met the Dean on Tuesday and also apologized, but the Dean has asked everyone to come with their parents. Dispute over bringing juniors along in the hostel Ragging has stopped in the medical college, but now a new trend has started and this is the main reason for this fight. Juniors should obey seniors and also do their work. Over this matter, seniors from two hostels of the college (Saraswati Boys Hostel, Ravishankar Hostel) have come face to face. As a result of this, students from both hostels fought with each other to show their dominance and supremacy by attracting more and more new students towards themselves. The college management has made it clear that these students have reached the police station against each other without informing. Therefore, the college management will not help the students in the police case. Warden locked hostel rooms Orders for action against new students as well The college management has started taking strict action in the case of medical students residing in 2 GRMC hostels fighting. GRMC Dean Dr. RKS Dhakad had issued an order a day earlier to expel 26 medical students who were fighting from the hostel. In addition, instructions have been given to the warden for action against any new medical students involved in this matter. 8 new medical students from both hostels have been found guilty of being involved in this fight. Consequently, the expulsion of 34 students from both hostels is now confirmed. Meanwhile, the hostel warden locked and sealed the rooms of the 26 students who are to be expelled from the hostel. 34 Students Met the Dean, Parents Will Have to Be Brought 26 medical students involved in this dispute from both hostels met Dr. RKS Dhakad, Dean of GRMC. They requested not to take suspension action and also apologized for their actions, but the GRMC Dean has issued instructions. The 34 students from both hostels involved in the dispute have been asked to come with their respective parents. Additionally, the disciplinary committee has been instructed to take action to suspend all these students from the hostel. Dean’s Order – Only Permission to Appear for Exams GRMC Dean Dr. RKS Dhakad’s order states that all students involved in the fight will not participate in academic and cultural activities. Considering the future of these students, they are only being allowed to appear for exams. The Dean clearly stated that indiscipline will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Medical students should avoid such violent incidents in the future and follow mutual cooperation and discipline. If any medical student has a problem, they should inform them. These students will now only be allowed to participate in exams.
