A man posted as a Naib Tehsildar in Bhopal, named Dinesh Sahu, suffered a heart attack while on duty at the city’s airport on Thursday morning, the police said. Sahu, posted at Govindpura Tehsil, had been assigned duty related to the arrival of former Chief Election Commissioner OP Rawat, the police added. According to officials, Sahu suddenly complained of severe chest pain while carrying out his official responsibilities. His colleagues immediately rushed him to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. SDM, other administrative officials reach the spot The news of Sahu’s death spread quickly through the city’s administrative circle. Govindpura Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Ravishkumar Srivastava, Tehsildar Saurabh Verma, and several other senior officials reached the hospital. Post-mortem examinations were conducted before the body was handed over to the family. Career and postings Sahu had served the revenue department for many years and was known for his dedication. He was promoted from the post of Revenue Inspector to Naib Tehsildar about two years ago. Following his promotion, he was posted in Tikamgarh before being transferred to Bhopal three months ago, where he took charge at Govindpura Tehsil. SDM Srivastava told Bhaskar English that Sahu’s family is based in Bhopal. He is survived by his wife and two sons, both of whom reached the hospital soon after the incident. Service record, reputation Huzur SDM Vinod Sonkiya also recalled that Sahu had earlier worked as a Revenue Inspector in Bairagarh. Colleagues described him as a soft-spoken, committed officer who always took his responsibilities seriously.
