The arrested Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Satyendar Jain’s fortune has come into focus ever since the Delhi’s Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) arrested him on 18 August, 2026. Jain faces a disputed tax demand of over ₹13.33 crore from the Income Tax Department. While his self-declared annual income stood at just over ₹3 lakh in the financial year 2023-24, his family wealth was valued at over ₹8.83 crore. These details were unearthed by ‘MyNeta’ in an affidavit that the politician had filed with the Election Commission of India (ECI) back in 2025. Disputed tax demand According to his official election affidavit, Jain is fighting several disputed income tax demands. These outstanding tax demands amount to more than ₹13.32 crore. These tax disputes relate to four separate assessment years. The affected years include the financial periods of 2011-12, 2012-13, 2015-16, and 2016-17. The former Delhi minister has challenged these demands before the Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals), Delhi-44. The cases remain pending as of the date of his affidavit submission, which was in 2025. On the other hand, Jain reported a personal annual income of only ₹3,11,410 in his Income Tax Return for FY24.
