Indian women’s team opener Pratika Rawal has been ruled out of the Lord’s Test. She will not be able to play the one-off Test against England due to a knee injury. Priya Punia has been included in the team in her place. On the other hand, England batter Tammy Beaumont has also announced her retirement from international cricket after this Test. The India vs England Lord’s Test will start on 10 July at 3:30 PM IST (Indian Standard Time). This will be the first women’s Test match to be played at Lord’s. Pratika ruled out due to knee injury 25-year-old Pratika Rawal sustained a cut on her knee last week during the India A vs England A match in Taunton. She has stitches in her knee, due to which she will not be able to play the Lord’s Test. Indian women’s team head coach Amol Muzumdar confirmed the development. Priya Punia returns after one and a half years Priya Punia has been included in the team in place of Pratika. She recently performed brilliantly for India-A on the England tour. She was the team’s most successful batter in the ODI series, scoring 171 runs. Priya played her last match for India in December 2024. Now, she has returned to the team after about one and a half years. Tammy Beaumont to play last international match England’s 35-year-old batter Tammy Beaumont has announced that the Lord’s Test against India will be the last match of her international career. She debuted for England in 2009 and played 260 matches in a 17-year career. She holds the record for the most centuries (12) for England in Women’s ODIs. She also won the Player of the Tournament award by scoring 410 runs in the 2017 Women’s ODI World Cup. First English woman to score a double century in Tests Beaumont set the record for being the first English woman to score a Test double century, with an innings of 208 runs against Australia in the 2023 Women’s Ashes Trent Bridge Test. She is only the second English woman to have scored centuries in all three formats. Even after retirement, she will continue to play domestic cricket.
