Bollywood actor and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) co-owner Shah Rukh Khan inaugurated the Knight Riders Cricket Ground in Los Angeles (LA), USA. On this occasion, he shared a post on social media to inform about it. This stadium has been built at Fairplex, located in the city of Pomona, Los Angeles County, California. In Major League Cricket (MLC), this will be the home ground for Los Angeles Knight Riders (LAKR), which was prepared in just 100 days. After the stadium was built, Shah Rukh Khan wrote on Instagram, “What was a dream has become a reality today. Welcome everyone to the Knight Riders Cricket Ground in Los Angeles.” He said that this ground has been built for cricket as well as for entertainment, families, and memorable moments. He thanked ICC Chairman Jay Shah and CEO Sanjog Gupta for their cooperation in this project. Shah Rukh said that this cricket ground is not just for the people of Los Angeles, but is dedicated to cricket fans worldwide and the entire Knight Riders family. He also reiterated his message, “Believe in Purple and Gold.” American cricketer Ali Khan was seen in the video shared by Shah Rukh. Ali Khan was born in Pakistan and plays for the United States of America (USA) team at the international level. He is also a part of the LA Knight Riders in Major League Cricket (MLC). Former West Indies players Dwayne Bravo and Sunil Narine also appeared in the video. Olympic 2028 connection This stadium is considered very important for the return of cricket in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics. It will be a major venue for hosting the upcoming Olympic matches. World-Class infrastructure According to Gulf News, 8 wickets (pitches) have been prepared on the main square of this ground. In this, according to ICC rules, boundaries and six floodlight towers, 120 feet high, have been installed. The ground was built for a reported cost of $21 million, approximately ₹200 crores, according to Cricbuzz. LAKR’s performances in MLC LA Knight Riders have been playing in the Major League Cricket (MLC) since its inaugural edition in 2023. They finished the inaugural season in last position among six teams, whilst in 2024, they were in fifth place. In 2025 again, the franchise finished in last place.
