Following the coaching centre tragedy in Lucknow, authorities in Bhopal have launched action against coaching institutes. On Thursday, the district administration and police sealed a coaching centre in MP Nagar, while five other institutes were inspected. The action was carried out in the presence of SDM LK Khare, police personnel, municipal corporation officials and other administrative officers. According to officials, a surprise joint inspection was conducted at NEET Mentor Coaching, Auras Coaching, IV Library, Sanjeevani Girls Hostel, Baithak Library and Jains Girls Stay (hostel), all located in MP Nagar Zone-2. Coaching found operating in basement Officials found that IV Library was being operated from a basement. The fire safety systems were also found to be non-functional. Due to the absence of proper exit and ventilation arrangements, MP Nagar Police sealed the premises on the spot. Authorities also instructed both girls’ hostels to improve cleanliness standards in their kitchens. At Sanjeevani Girls Hostel, officials found unhygienic conditions, including fungus-covered vegetables and food items in the kitchen. Directions were issued to the Municipal Corporation to serve a notice in the matter. Asked to arrange within 7 days Fire officer Saurabh Patel of the Municipal Corporation issued notices directing institutions to comply with fire safety norms. The notices were served to NEET Mentor Coaching, Kautilya Academy (Rachna Dubey), Girls Hostel and Library, Mithilesh Rathi Coaching Classes, Step Up Coaching Classes, Durani Coaching, Auras Coaching Classes, Unacademy Coaching Classes, Auras Academy Pvt Ltd and Physics Wallah Pvt Ltd. All institutions have been directed to rectify deficiencies and ensure compliance within seven days.
