A major decision has been taken in the OBC reservation dispute pending in the Madhya Pradesh High Court. On Wednesday, the division bench of Justice Anand Pathak and Justice BP Sharma clarified that the regular final hearing of the case will now be held daily from 2:30 PM starting 15 July. However, earlier it was being considered to start this marathon hearing from 13 July. During the hearing, a sharp legal debate was witnessed between the OBC category and the general category. Senior advocate Rameshwar Singh Thakur, representing the OBC category, strongly demanded the immediate removal of the stay order issued on February 19 in the main petition (Ashita Dubey vs. Government of Madhya Pradesh). Presenting the side of the state’s youth before the court, he said that due to this reservation dispute, the future of thousands of candidates is at stake, and due to recruitment being stalled for a long time, there is widespread disappointment and increasing mental stress among the youth. On the other hand, senior advocate Aditya Sanghi, representing the general category, strongly opposed this demand.
