A massive fire suddenly broke out late Wednesday night at the 220 KV power station located on Jaitpura hill, near Dharampuri in the Sanwer area, near Indore. As soon as the fire started, chaos erupted throughout the area, and the flames rising from the transformer quickly took on a monstrous form. Tall flames started rising within a short time Shortly after the light rain stopped on Wednesday night, a transformer at the power station suddenly caught fire. Initially, the grid employees present tried to extinguish the fire, but it spread rapidly, and within a short time, tall flames and a plume of smoke became visible from afar. Seeing the seriousness of the situation, officials and the fire brigade were immediately informed. Upon receiving the information, more than eight fire tenders reached the spot, and an operation to control the fire was launched. Firefighters and electricity department personnel continuously worked to extinguish the fire until late at night. Explosion-like sounds were heard According to eyewitnesses, explosion-like sounds were also heard due to the fire in the transformer, creating an atmosphere of panic in the surrounding area. However, a major accident was averted due to timely safety arrangements. Efforts to completely extinguish the fire were ongoing until around 11:30 PM. So far, no casualties or injuries have been reported in the incident. The primary cause of the fire has not yet been determined. The electricity department and concerned agencies are engaged in a technical investigation. Meanwhile, officials are also present at the site to monitor the repair work.
