Four children fell ill due to the smell of poisonous medicine kept to protect wheat from insects in Anu village of Damoh district. One of the children, a 5-year-old, died, while the condition of the other three children is serious. The incident took place on Friday night. The deceased child has been identified as Dharmendra Prajapati (5). Poisonous medicine was added to the grain to protect it from insects. It is being reported that due to the strong stench rising from the same room, the children’s health started deteriorating. At night, the children began vomiting. Initially, the family members thought it would be a minor problem, but within a few hours, their condition started becoming serious. Referred from health center to district hospital On Saturday morning, the family members took all four children to Bandakpur Health Center. After primary treatment there, doctors, seeing their serious condition, referred them to the district hospital. Upon reaching there, doctors declared 5-year-old Dharmendra dead. The family members say that the children’s mother’s health has also deteriorated. She has also been admitted to the district hospital after complaining of vomiting. Dr. Madhur Chaudhary of the District Hospital stated that the family members have informed that poisonous medicine was put in the wheat. Currently, the children’s condition is being monitored.
