A 24-year-old man was killed and another was injured after unidentified assailants opened fire on a car carrying four friends in Siddharth Colony of Datia on Wednesday night. Police said around 10 to 15 rounds were fired during the attack, resulting in the death of Vishal Kushwaha, who suffered gunshot wounds to the head and chest. Authorities have registered a murder case and other relevant charges against six accused persons. Friends had gathered after engagement celebration According to injured survivor Rohit Yadav, he had recently celebrated his engagement on June 17 and later went out with his friends Vishal Kushwaha, Anand Yadav, and Raja Khan for a party. At around 8 PM, the four reached Siddharth Colony in Anand Yadav’s car and parked near his residence, where they remained seated inside the vehicle. Six assailants allegedly opened fire Rohit alleged that a black Scorpio SUV stopped in front of their car, after which six men identified as Amit Tiwari, Bunty Tiwari, Golu Tiwari, Divyank Pathak, Rahul Bundela, and Vikas Sharma got out carrying rifles and pistols. The attackers allegedly surrounded the car and fired indiscriminately. Rohit ducked for cover, but Vishal was struck by bullets in the head and chest. Vishal’s cousin, Rahul Kushwaha, later arrived at the scene and helped take him to the district hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Police suspect victims were being followed The FIR states that shortly before the shooting, the four friends had stopped near an MMS pan shop in the city, where they noticed a black Thar SUV occupied by Golu Tiwari, Divyank Pathak, and Rahul Bundela. Investigators suspect the accused may have begun following the victims from that location before carrying out the attack. Four arrested, 2 still absconding Police records indicate that the incident occurred between 8:00 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. Information reached the Kotwali police station around 12:20 a.m., and an FIR was registered shortly afterward. So far, police have arrested Golu Tiwari, Divyank Pathak, Rahul Bundela, and Vikas Sharma. Golu Tiwari, who was reportedly injured, is undergoing treatment at the district hospital. Amit Tiwari and Bunty Tiwari remain absconding. Weapons recovered during search Police officials said they conducted a search at the residence of the uncle of absconding accused Amit Tiwari and recovered several weapons. Sources believe these may have been used in the attack, although authorities have not yet officially confirmed their connection to the crime.
