In the Kamarji police station area of Sidhi district, on Monday afternoon, Station In-charge Indraj Singh, who had arrived to maintain law and order, was attacked with an axe and a sickle in a life-threatening assault. He sustained serious injuries to his head while clearing a road blockade in the village of Patpara. He received 12 stitches on his head. He was immediately admitted to Sidhi District Hospital with the help of Dial-112. According to information, there had been a long-standing dispute between two parties in the village of Patpara over a government road. One party alleges that some people have encroached upon the government road. Applications had been submitted to the tehsil office several times regarding this matter. Angry people staged a road blockade due to lack of action Angered by the lack of action, people blocked the road on Monday afternoon at around 12 o’clock. Upon receiving information, Station In-charge Indraj Singh reached the spot with the police force. He tried to persuade the people and get the road cleared. During this, some people attacked him with a tangi (axe) and sickles. In the attack, the Station In-Charge suffered serious injuries to his head. The policemen present at the spot safely extracted him from the crowd and took him to the district hospital, where his treatment was ongoing. Named case registered against 5 people Police have named Dinesh Patel alias Gunthi, Sunil Patel, Vinay Patel, Pritam Patel, and Ritesh alias Sintu Patel as accused in this case. It is alleged that when prevented from clearing the road blockage, the accused assaulted the police team and attacked the station in-charge with a sharp weapon. Upon receiving information about the incident, Superintendent of Police Santosh Kori reached the district hospital. He inquired about the condition of the injured station in-charge and obtained information about the treatment from the doctors. SP says – Raids are being conducted for arrests SP Kori said that the attack on the station in-charge is a serious matter. Police forces from five stations and the SDOP have been sent to the spot.
