‘we’ll-live-and-die-together’:rewa-businessman-dies-of-cardiac-arrest,-wife-ends-life-amid-grief

A heartbreaking incident unfolded on Sunday when a 33-year-old businessman from Rewa died of a suspected cardiac arrest, and his wife allegedly died by suicide in Uttarakhand minutes after learning about his death. According to family members, the couple often joked that they would “live together and die together.” What was once seen as a light-hearted conversation turned into a painful reality. Love story began five years ago Businessman Pradeep Soni (33) and Vaishali Khadayat married for love in 2021. Family members said the couple shared a deep emotional bond and were devoted to each other. Recalling a past conversation, relatives said Pradeep had once told Vaishali that he could not imagine living without her. In response, Vaishali reportedly said they would live together and die together because she could not imagine life without her husband. At the time, it was considered a normal exchange between a loving couple. Today, the family remembers those words with grief. Father speaks about daughter-in-law’s devotion Pradeep’s father, prominent jeweller Parmanand Soni, said Vaishali loved his son deeply. He claimed that she took her own life within five minutes of receiving the news of Pradeep’s death. He added that she was unable to bear the shock of losing her husband. While expressing sorrow over the incident, he said suicide is never the right step, but Vaishali was deeply attached to her husband and could not cope with the loss. How Pradeep’s death came to light According to the family, Pradeep was alone at his residence in Anantpur, Rewa. His wife had recently travelled to her parental home in Kumaud village of Pithoragarh district, Uttarakhand. When Pradeep’s mobile phone remained switched off until Sunday afternoon, relatives became concerned and went to check on him. After receiving no response, they broke open the door and found him lying dead inside the bathroom. Doctors suspect cardiac arrest Family members said Pradeep had no known serious medical condition. He had reportedly eaten dinner the previous night and gone to sleep as usual. The incident first came to light through a domestic worker, who informed Vaishali about the situation. The information was later passed on to other family members. Police reached the spot and initiated an investigation. Preliminary findings suggest that Pradeep may have died due to cardiac arrest. His body was sent for post-mortem examination. Wife found dead in Uttarakhand Meanwhile, Vaishali, who was in Uttarakhand, received news of her husband’s death over the phone on Sunday morning. According to relatives, she was deeply shocked after hearing the news. Some time later, she left home without informing anyone. Family members began searching for her, and by evening her body was found in a pond near Nainisaini in the Jajardeval police station area. Police also recovered her mobile phone and purse from the scene. The deaths of both Pradeep and Vaishali on the same day have left the Soni family devastated. Police find no suspicious circumstances Additional Superintendent of Police Sandeep Mishra said no suspicious facts have emerged during the investigation so far. Police currently do not suspect any criminal angle and are continuing with the legal formalities. Rise in cardiac arrest cases among young people Cardiologist Dr. V. D. Tripathi said cases of cardiac arrest among young adults have increased in recent years. According to him, irregular lifestyles, stress, smoking, alcohol consumption, unhealthy eating habits and lack of physical activity are among the major risk factors. Conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes and obesity can also increase the risk of heart disease. He advised regular health check-ups, a balanced diet and routine exercise to reduce such risks.
