In Bhopal, a young man launched a deadly knife attack on his ex-girlfriend in the middle of the road. The accused repeatedly stabbed the young woman on her neck, face, back, and hands. He also attacked her elder sister, who came to save her, causing a deep wound on her left cheek. According to Chhola Mandir police, the 23-year-old woman was walking near her home with her elder sister around 4 PM on Tuesday when Akshay Chandel, a resident of Preet Nagar, blocked their path. He started arguing about old matters. After a brief argument, Akshay pulled out a knife from his pocket and attacked them. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening in the Shankar Nagar area. He repeatedly stabbed the young woman on her neck, face, back, and hands. In the sudden attack, the young woman fell down severely injured. Before people nearby could understand what was happening, the accused had already inflicted multiple stabs. During the attack, the young woman’s elder sister came forward to save her. The accused also attacked her with a knife. The blow landed on her left cheek, causing a deep cut on her face. Case of attempted murder registered, search continues The young woman seriously injured in the attack is undergoing treatment in the hospital. According to the police, her condition remains serious. The elder sister also sustained serious injuries to her face. Police have registered a case against the accused Akshay Chandel under sections of attempted murder, assault, threat, and other related provisions. Enmity arose after a live-in relationship ASI Pritam Singh, investigating the case, stated that preliminary investigation revealed that there was a love affair between the accused Akshay Chandel and the victim earlier. Both had also been in a live-in relationship for some time. Later, a dispute arose between the two. Subsequently, the young woman distanced herself from the accused and started living with her family. The police believe that the accused harboured resentment because of this.
