Deputy Collector Arvind Mahaur arrested in rape case:Survivor alleges forced relations in car and flat; CM had earlier suspended him

Deputy Collector Arvind Mahaur, posted at Morena district headquarters, has been arrested by the police in a rape case. A young woman has accused Mahaur of physical exploitation by promising marriage and rape in a car and flat. Civil Line Police Station police have registered a case against the Deputy Collector under sections 69, 351(1), 351(3) and 225 of the BNS on the complaint of the young woman. TI Civil Line Uday Bhan Yadav said that the accused Deputy Collector was arrested at night. He will be produced in court on Thursday after a medical examination. Friendship on Facebook, Proposed Marriage According to Civil Line Police, the victim filed a complaint at the police station on Wednesday (June 3) night. She stated that her friendship with Deputy Collector Arvind Mahaur began on Facebook. After this, conversation started between them over the phone. Mahaur proposed marriage to her, to which she agreed. Exploitation from March 30, 2025 to June 3, 2026 The victim alleges that on March 30, 2025, Mahaur picked her up in a car near her house and took her to a rest house in Morena. There, he had relations with her against her will in the car. After that, he took her to the government residence in Sabalgarh, as the then SDM, and then to his flat in Gwalior. Here too, he had physical relations. The victim states that this continued from March 30, 2025, to June 3, 2026. Now Mahaur is refusing to marry her and threatening to harm her family if she complains. Suspended for misbehavior with women Arvind Mahaur has a long history of controversies. He was accused of pressuring a female student to talk on the phone at night. At that time, the victim’s family had reached Morena from Gwalior to meet the Collector during a public hearing. After this, on September 19, 2025, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav had instructed the Chambal Commissioner to suspend Mahaur for his misconduct and misbehavior with women. Also controversial in the ‘slap incident’
