A 10-year-old hearing and speech-impaired girl was allegedly raped in Khandwa district. According to police officials, the accused is the brother-in-law of the minor’s maternal uncle. He abducted the girl on the pretext of getting her some items, took her to the jungle, and carried out an assault. After a three-day search operation, the police team safely rescued the girl from the jungle on May 31. The accused was arrested and sent to jail. The case is from the Mundi police station area. According to TI Rajendra Narwaria, the statements of the deaf-mute girl were recorded in the presence of an expert and a female police officer. During the investigation, the girl narrated the abuse she suffered through gestures. A case has been registered against the accused under sections of kidnapping, rape, POCSO Act, and the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act. Child was alone at home on May 29 According to the TI, the accused reached the child’s house on May 29. At that time, the child was alone at home. The accused gestured to take her to the grocery store for items and took her on his bike. When the child’s grandfather reached home, she was not found. Neighbours said that the relative had taken her with him on his bike. Raids in 4-5 villages, clues from CCTV Family members filed a complaint at the police station. The police scanned the area’s CCTV cameras, in which the accused’s movement was visible. Subsequently, the police continuously raided 4-5 villages and conducted a search operation in the jungle areas. On the morning of May 31st, the police rescued the child from the jungle.
