People are consuming poison, committing self-immolation in public hearings. Illegal miners have no fear of the police-administration. How can anyone dare to run over someone with a tractor or bike? What kind of good governance is this? It is the responsibility of the Collector-SP to take strict action against those who do this, so that such incidents do not occur and the message of good governance is conveyed. Madhya Pradesh Chief Secretary Anurag Jain on Wednesday directed officials to take strict action against illegal mining and improve public grievance redressal. His remarks came during a video conference review meeting on the decisions taken in the recent Collector-Commissioner Conference. The Chief Secretary instructed Collectors to seize vehicles involved in illegal transportation of minerals if they have no number plates or damaged number plates. He also asked officials to auction such vehicles at the earliest. Jain directed officials to reopen old mining-related cases and review how many accused have been punished so far. He said that in cases where punishment has not yet been awarded, officials should immediately complete the pending formalities to ensure action. The Chief Secretary also stressed the importance of CM Helpline and Jan Sunwai, calling them strong platforms for public service delivery. He asked the administration to handle complaints with sensitivity and adopt a humane approach during public hearings. He further instructed officials to ensure action on 100% of CM Helpline complaints and resolve public grievances in a satisfactory manner. Special attention needs to be given to law and order Chief Secretary Anurag Jain said that special attention needs to be given to law and order. In the next three years, the state has to be freed from narcotics and drugs, so officials should take action against it by running campaigns. Jabalpur-Narsinghpur reprimanded for stubble burning Regarding incidents of stubble burning, CS Jain reprimanded the collectors of Jabalpur and Narsinghpur. He said – This is not good, instead of decreasing, such cases have increased. Encourage farmers to harvest with seeders instead of harvesters. Also promote awareness campaigns to bring about improvement in this. Maihar-Singrauli most polluted, collectors should investigate CS Jain said that currently, Maihar and Singrauli districts have the highest pollution. If this is the situation in summer, it will worsen further in winter. Expressed displeasure over 104 handpumps being in private possession During the review of drinking water in the meeting, it came to light that 104 handpumps are under the possession of private individuals in different districts. CS Jain expressed displeasure over this, saying – How can it be that someone occupies a government handpump? Everyone should get water. The concerned collectors will take prompt action in such cases and provide information. In addition, CS Jain also instructed the collectors to maintain proper drinking water arrangements in cities. Not just DAP, give tokens for NPK too Reviewing the fertilizer distribution for the Kharif season, CS Jain said- There is sufficient storage of fertiliser. Farmers should be registered through the e-Vikas portal and fertilizer should be provided. Do not issue tokens only for DAP, but also for NPK, so that overcrowding does not occur. Jain also asked for the ‘Ksheer Dhara’ program for milk production and breed improvement programs to be run rapidly in rural areas. Instructions for repairing bridges and culverts Chief Secretary Anurag Jain said – The progress of any district is known by the bank finance happening there, collectors should work rapidly for this. The rainy season is approaching, so the repair and renovation work of bridges and culverts should be completed.
