Three tribal school girls drowned in a well in Raisen district after going to fetch water amid a drinking water crisis in Sagaur village under Gairatganj tehsil. The village has been facing severe water scarcity for a long time, forcing residents to fetch water from a well located nearly one kilometre away. According to reports, four girls had gone to the well around 11 am on Saturday to collect water. They started bathing there when one of the girls slipped and fell into the well. A second girl entered the well to rescue her, but also began drowning. Seeing this, the third girl jumped in to save them, but due to the deep water, all three drowned. The fourth girl, identified as Amina, witnessed the incident and immediately rushed back to the village to alert family members and locals. Villagers pulled the girls out of the well and took them to the hospital, where doctors declared all three dead. The deceased were identified as Radha (12), daughter of Halke Ram; Amrita (12), daughter of Ramgopal; and Tanu (13), daughter of Halke Ram. Radha and Amrita were Class 5 students, while Tanu studied in Class 8. Villagers angry, crowd gathers at hospital A large crowd gathered at the hospital after news of the incident spread.
