Despite strict cow protection laws in Madhya Pradesh, repeated cases of cow slaughter have raised serious questions over law and order and police negligence. In Bhopal, a slaughterhouse continued operating for 16 days even after a truck carrying 26 tons of beef was seized. In another case, accused individuals resumed cow slaughter after being released on bail. Bhaskar’s investigation found that police delays, weak case diaries, and failure to include past criminal records directly benefited the accused, helping them secure bail and commit offences again after release. Case- 1 December 17, 2025: A truck loaded with 26 tons of beef was caught in Bhopal Case-2 May 16, 2025: Open cow slaughter on a plot in Karond, Bhopal Committed cow slaughter again after getting out of jail After being released from jail, Aalmeen Rahman again committed the act of cow slaughter. Complainant Badriprasad Bhilala stated that he is a resident of Achapura Road, Godarmau, and is a farmer. 16 He had tied the cows in the field near the farm, which were found missing in the morning. Their neck bells were found at Jain Farm House. A large amount of blood and remains were also found nearby. Police arrested Alameen and sent him to jail. Case-3 August 2025: Case in Aishbagh, incident again after absconding Gauraj fired shots during his escape During his escape, the accused Gauraj fired at the criminal Danish Ali in the Eetkhedi area in January this year. Danish was hit by two bullets. A case of attempted murder was registered against him, yet he remained absconding for four months. Later, Aishbagh police arrested him with a loaded pistol. Regarding the matter, Aishbagh Police Station TI Sandeep Pawar stated that the accused Gauraj was arrested recently. He had been absconding for a long time. Now the case challan will be presented in court. Human Rights Commission had warned Bail granted due to police leniency Hindu organisations demanded a CBI inquiry Chandrashekhar Tiwari, president of the Hindu Utsav Samiti, said that incidents of cow slaughter are continuously coming to light in the city. Due to the lax action of the police, the accused obtained bail. The release of Aslam Chamda is an example of this. More than 26 tons of beef was loaded into the municipal slaughterhouse under his supervision. Sampling of the meat also confirmed that it was cow meat. Bhopal police did not seize the evidence in time, which benefited Aslam. We do not trust the SIT investigation. The investigation of the case should be handed over to the CBI, which will reveal the truth.
