A 50-year-old man has been booked for allegedly molesting an 11-year-old girl in a village under the Kesla Police Station area. The incident took place on the evening of May 8, when the child was home alone with her younger sister. The police have registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and are currently searching for the accused, who has been missing since the incident. Details of the incident According to police reports, the incident occurred around 4:00 PM. The victim’s mother had gone to Sukhtawa for work, leaving the 11-year-old and her 5-year-old sister at home. Taking advantage of their parents’ absence, a neighbor identified as Narmada Prasad (alias Buddhu Chacha) entered the house. He allegedly grabbed the girl and began touching her inappropriately. The escape and complaint The young girl began screaming loudly for help, which frightened the accused and caused him to flee the scene. When the mother returned home around 6:00 PM, the child recounted the ordeal. The family immediately approached the Kesla Police Station to file a formal complaint. Police Action Kesla Police Station In-charge, Madan Lal Pawar, confirmed the following details regarding the investigation: Charges: The accused faces serious charges under the POCSO Act and relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code for molestation. Accused Profile: Narmada Prasad is reportedly a private employee at the Central Proof Establishment (CPE). Current Status: The accused is currently absconding. “Police teams have been searching for the suspect for the past two days. We have several leads and expect to make an arrest very soon,” said Station In-charge Pawar.
