In cities, many skin and hair clinics claim to offer treatments like laser, hair transplant, and PRP in cheap packages. However, many clinics are operating without valid degrees and registration. Recently, the Health Department sealed Dr. Batra’s Homeopathy Clinic (Hair and Skin) located in MP Nagar, Bhopal. During the investigation, the clinic was found to have no valid registration or license. After this action, the Dainik Bhaskar team investigated hair transplant and skin care clinics in Bhopal. It was found that around 30 clinics in the city claim to treat skin and hair without dermatologists. Some are treating patients based on homeopathy degrees, while others are charging hefty amounts from patients using the registration of doctors sitting in Dubai. Bhaskar checked the registrations of the alleged doctors running clinics on the National Medical Council website, but no records were found. In the conversation, he revealed that he has a homeopathy degree and has done a cosmetology course. According to experts, cosmetology is just a skill certificate, like a beauty parlor course. For laser treatment and hair transplant, an MBBS or MD Dermatology degree is necessary. Read in the report how this black business is running in the name of beauty… Reality: Clinic running on another doctor’s identity Divine Cosmetic Clinic, located in the posh area of Shahpura in the city, is a major example of this fraud. Amit Pandey, who practices here, claims to be an MD in Dermatology, but no clear record of his allopathic degree was found. The investigation revealed that the registration number (MP-24113) recorded on his prescription belongs to Dr. Jatin Yadav from Haryana. This means one person is practicing medicine using another doctor’s identity. Amit Pandey claims on social media that he has performed over 4,000 surgeries. In videos, he is seen performing procedures like laser and hair transplants, which are illegal without a valid MBBS degree and specialization. Amit Pandey says, ‘I do promotion, not treatment’ In this case, Dr. Amit Pandey said that he has a BHMS degree, which is a homeopathy degree. Regarding the use of Dr. Jatin Yadav’s registration, he said that different doctors treat patients at his place, and he is the director of Divine Cosmetic Clinic. On the claim of more than 4 thousand surgeries on social media, Dr. Pandey said that he only does promotion, not treatment. He has done a course in cosmetology. Prescriptions without names and network of fraud The ‘Skin Aura’ and ‘Derma Aura’ clinics run by Shahid Ali (BHMS) are operating across 5 branches in Bhopal. The prescriptions given to patients here don’t even have the doctor’s name. According to rules, every prescription must have the doctor’s name, degree, and registration number, so that responsibility can be fixed in case of any irregularity. Two registration numbers – 16472 and 27330 – are mentioned on the Skin Aura clinic’s prescriptions. Upon checking on the National Medical Council’s website, the first number was found registered in the name of Dr. Zaheer, and the second number in the name of Dr. Pradeep Dhurve. In conversation with Bhaskar, Dr. Zaheer said that he no longer has any connection with this clinic, yet his name is being used. He informed that he is currently practicing in Dubai. Meanwhile, Dr. Pradeep Kumar Dhurve (MP-27330) said that the use of his number without his permission is illegal and he is not responsible for it. Notifiable diseases like Leprosy are also being treated here, information about which is mandatory to be given to government officials. Dr. Shahid said- How can Zahir’s brother say such a thing Speaking to Bhaskar, Dr Shahid said he holds a BHMS degree and had pursued MBBS studies but did not complete it. When asked about Dr. Zahir, under whose registration the treatment is allegedly being carried out, having no connection with the clinic and currently residing in Dubai, Shahid replied, “If Zahir’s brother has said so, we will remove his registration number from the prescription.” “He is like a brother to us. I will speak to him,” he added. Shahid further claimed that he does not treat patients himself and that a panel of doctors handles hair transplants and treatment of other ailments. Allopathic surgery under the guise of homeopathy At S. Perfection Clinic, located at Jawahar Chowk, Chaitanya Sharma is performing procedures on the basis of his BHMS degree, for which only MD Dermatologists are authorized. Lip fillers, hair transplant, GFC, and vitiligo (white spots) surgery are being done here. According to medical regulations, a homeopathic doctor cannot perform allopathic surgery or modern cosmetic procedures. Bhaskar tried to get Dr. Chaitanya Sharma’s side of the story, but he did not receive the call. MBBS after the name, but missing from records One case of misleading degree is also that of Asha Srivastava of Advanced Neuropathy and Skin Care Clinic. She writes herself as MBBS on the letterhead and social media. But no record of her was found in the National Medical Commission (NMC) register. Without valid registration, she is prescribing heavy antibiotic medicines like Doxycycline and Azithromycin to patients and also doing laser treatment. On social media, she uploads videos claiming laser treatment. Bhaskar tried to contact Dr. Asha Srivastava, but she did not receive the call. No action even after complaint The Indian Doctors and Dermatologists Against Quackery (IDDAQ) organization has launched a campaign against such doctors. The organization’s national coordinator, Amarendra Pandey, said that complaints were filed with evidence at the CMHO offices of the concerned districts, but no action has been taken so far. According to Pandey, there are five to six government and private medical colleges in Bhopal, where correct and free treatment of skin diseases is available. Despite this, people without degrees are performing complex treatments like laser, chemical peel, PRP, and hair transplant, playing with the health and beauty of patients. CMHO says- Will take action if a complaint is received Bhopal’s Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO), Dr. Manish Sharma, said on this entire matter that the complaint of fake doctors has been taken cognizance of. Treating without registration is completely wrong. If any patient has any kind of reaction, they can file a complaint at the CMHO office.
