In Ratlam, cyber fraudsters withdrew 2.93 lakh rupees from a patwari’s bank account without any OTP or call. This amount was transferred from the SBI account of Patwari Ashok Yogi, a resident of Katju Nagar in the city, in three different transactions between April 27 and 29. He came to know about this entire fraud on April 30 when he checked his bank balance. GPF money was deposited for family needs The patwari, who was a victim of the fraud, told the police that he had neither shared any OTP with anyone nor given his bank details to anyone. He had withdrawn 5 lakh rupees from GPF in March for family needs and deposited them in this account. After receiving the complaint, the Industrial Police Station has registered a case against unknown accused. Possibility of mobile hacking via link According to cyber experts, this type of fraud is carried out through mobile hacking or remote access. Clicking on an unknown link gives fraudsters control of the mobile, and then they easily steal money. Police are now gathering technical information with the help of the cyber cell about the accounts and media through which this fraudulent amount was transferred.
