A cheetah that came to Rajasthan from Madhya Pradesh stayed in Ranthambore Tiger Reserve (Sawai Madhopur) for about 25 days. On Friday, a team from Kuno National Park (Madhya Pradesh) tranquillised it in the Kala Kuan area of the Phalodi range. After that, around 9:30 AM, the team departed for Madhya Pradesh with the cheetah. Sent to Kuno after a health checkup DFO Manas Singh of Ranthambore Tiger Reserve first said – On April 14, cheetah KP-2 was first located in Ajitpura village of Palighat range. Since then, it kept roaming in nearby villages. Movement was in the forest for two days During this period, the cheetah covered a distance of about 175 kilometers. Ajitpura, Lahsoda, Lakshmipura, Bhairupura, Jaitpur, Halaunda, Kushalipura, Zone numbers 7, 8, and 9 were prominently included in the periphery area (area around the forest). Apart from these, its movement was also recorded in Shyam Vatika, Sangrampura, Neemli, Sitamata, Kalibhat, Hindwad, Dumoda, Kailashpuri, and Maujipura areas. For the past two days, the cheetah’s movement was within the forest area and it was being continuously monitored. Rescue Operation Conducted Amidst Forest Department’s Vigilance DFO Manas Singh informed – The cheetah was tranquilized under the special supervision of the Forest Department team. Veterinary doctors checked the cheetah’s health. After this, with security arrangements, it was taken to Madhya Pradesh in a special vehicle. Currently, the cheetah’s condition is normal and it is being continuously monitored.
