In Rajgarh, Madhya Pradesh, a 65-year-old man returning home after collecting his pension was crushed by a tractor. Seeing the elderly man bleeding and struggling, the driver wept profusely, but after some time, he abandoned the vehicle and fled. The accident occurred on Monday evening near the small bridge over the Nevaj River. The deceased has been identified as Vikram Singh, son of Bhanwar Singh Hada (65), resident of Rawatpura, Kotwali Rajgarh. Driver was playing loud music The elderly man had come to Rajgarh to withdraw his pension. While returning, he was sitting by the bridge when a speeding tractor coming from the Kalipith side hit him. A loud sound system was playing in the tractor. It is suspected that, as a result, the driver could not gauge the surrounding situation. Elderly man died a painful death After the collision, the seriously injured elderly man struggled on the road. Upon receiving information, he was taken to the district hospital by a 108 ambulance, where doctors declared him dead. Case registered against driver According to eyewitnesses, after the accident, the driver sat and cried on the spot for some time, but then abandoned the tractor and fled. Police have seized the vehicle. The tractor was loaded with ‘choori’ (fine gravel). Police have registered a case against the unknown driver. Family members in tears The deceased’s village is about 4 kilometers away from the city. He used to come to Rajgarh on foot every time to collect his pension. He has two sons and two daughters in his family. Upon receiving news of the accident, the family members who reached the hospital were in tears.
