In Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh, a young man raped a 15-year-old student. After the incident, he left her in a deserted area at night. The student committed suicide due to tension. Her body was found some distance from her home. The accused had taken her on a bike. CCTV footage has emerged. According to police investigation, on the night of April 27, around 1 AM, the main accused, Ajit Baheshwar (22), came to the house of the Class 9 student. He lured the student. He took her on his friend’s bike to a field about one kilometer away from the village. Accused’s friend left her halfway The young man raped the student in the field around 2 AM. After the incident, the student pleaded to be dropped home, but Ajit Baheshwar sent his friend Lavkush Kohre to drop her. Lavkush started with her but left her halfway. Accused hung up the phone saying “I am sleeping” In the middle of the night, the student, scared and shaken, kept walking, but couldn’t gather the courage to reach home, so she called the accused. She called Ajit and asked for help, but Ajit hung up the phone saying he was sleeping and left her alone. The student reached near her home from the crime scene. In tension, she hanged herself with an iron angle on the culvert. On the morning of April 28, her body was found hanging. The family suspected murder and rape, but the matter could not be clarified in the initial investigation. Case opened under pressure from society and public representatives Two days after the incident, on April 30, members of the Muslim community, along with the victim’s family, submitted a memorandum demanding an impartial investigation. A community meeting was held on May 1. Strict action was demanded against the accused. There is still anger in the village. Upon receiving the news of suicide after rape, local MLA Anubha Munjare visited the victim’s family on May 2. She assured strict action and an impartial investigation. Due to increasing pressure, the police expedited the investigation. Secret revealed by CCTV and call records When the police examined CCTV footage and mobile call details, the pieces of the incident began to connect. The student leaving home at night, her location with the accused, and subsequent phone calls gave a new direction to the case. Based on this evidence, the police changed the case from suicide to sections of rape and abetment to suicide. One accused arrested, main accused absconding Bharveli Police Station in-charge Bhupendra Singh Pandro said that the accused’s friend, Lavkush Kohre, has been arrested. The main accused, Ajit Baheshwar, is still absconding. Several police teams are continuously raiding to find him. The accused will be arrested soon.
