The state government transferred 62 IPS officers late on Saturday night, around 1:30 AM. The biggest impact of this reshuffle has been seen on districts and the commissionerate system. Out of 55 districts in the state, the SPs of 24 districts have been changed, meaning the command of about 50% of the districts has been handed over to new officers. New appointments have been made in 23 of these districts, while the posting of an SP in Burhanpur is still pending. The new SP appointments also include Bhopal Rural and Indore Rural. A dispute between the SP and subordinate staff had recently come to light in Bhopal Rural, after which this change is considered significant. According to sources, the list had been ready for about two months, but there was no consensus on the names at the police headquarters and higher levels. After several rounds of meetings, the list was finally approved and released late at night. These officers changed in Bhopal-Indore: 10 senior officers have been replaced in the Bhopal and Indore Commissionerates. Among them, 4 officers are from Bhopal and 6 from Indore. In Bhopal, the DCPs of Zone-2, Zone-3, Zone-4, and Intelligence Security have been replaced. Vikas Sahwal has been given charge in Zone-2, replacing Vivek Singh. Ayush Gupta has been appointed to Zone-3. Adarshkant Shukla has been posted in Zone-4, replacing Mayur Khandelwal. Sonakshi Saxena has been removed from the Intelligence Security branch; no new appointment has been made. Addl. CPs Law Order have also been changed in Bhopal and Indore. The posting for Sagar IG has not been made. The post has been vacant since Himani Khanna retired on March 31. Sachin becomes SP Dhar soon after returning from Delhi
