In the Mohan government, Inder Singh Chauhan, brother of Cabinet Minister Nagar Singh Chauhan, has been granted bail even though a non-bailable case was registered against him. He had allegedly threatened the woman CEO of Alirajpur Janpad Panchayat, Priya Kag, saying he would “bury her alive” and “break her teeth”. In court, the accused cited illness and high blood pressure as the reason for seeking relief, on the basis of which he was granted bail. The police had registered a case under Section 132 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which is non-bailable. Gunman deployed for female CEO’s security After the incident, security of CEO Kag was increased and a gunman was deployed for her protection. She had requested security on 22 April. Following the threat, she stopped field visits and is now restricted only to office work. SP said – Got bail from court Police registered an FIR against Inder Singh Chauhan under BNS Sections 132, 224, 221, 351(2) and 126(2). Alirajpur SP Raghuvansh Singh Bhadauria said that after his arrest on 24 April, he was produced before the court, from where he was granted bail. Minister said – Law will do its work Minister Nagar Singh Chauhan had said, “I do not talk to my brother. He does his own work and lives separately. What he says to whom is his matter. In the last 32 years, more than 25 cases have been registered against him, including murder, attempt to murder, kidnapping, robbery, dacoity and arson. However, he has not been convicted in any of them so far. Acquitted in 17 cases including serious charges According to information, Chauhan has been acquitted in 17 cases, including serious charges under Sections 302 and 307. Four cases have been closed through compromise or disposed of, while records of two old cases are not available. Currently, two cases are under investigation—one related to obstruction of government work in 2025, and another fresh threat case from 2026. Dispute linked to mass marriage scheme The latest incident took place on 22 April when Inder Singh Chauhan became angry over cancellation of applications under the mass marriage scheme for already married applicants. He was accused of threatening, misbehaving and giving death threats to the woman CEO. As per reports, he was angry over action taken in the scheme. It is alleged that he tried to attack CEO Priya Kag and said, “I will break your teeth. I will bury you alive here. Everything here will happen as per my wish.” Accounts officer Sawan Bhinde intervened and stopped him. CEO said – I am feeling unsafe CEO Kag said that on 22 April around 3 pm, when she reached the office, Inder Singh Chauhan threatened her over cancellation of applications under the mass marriage scheme. She said he tried to attack her and blocked her way. She added that she feels unsafe at her workplace.
