In Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh, a 7-year-old girl died under suspicious circumstances. The girl’s brother alleged that the stepmother beat her to death. Injury marks were found on the girl’s body. Her health deteriorated due to the beating and she died while being taken for treatment. According to information, the deceased girl’s name is Ragini Saket. She was a resident of Aamir Koni village in Tyonthar assembly constituency. Disputes had increased after the father’s second marriage. The stepmother used to beat her. The police took possession of the body and sent it for post-mortem. Brother’s alleges, ‘Mother beat her at noon, sister’s health deteriorated by night’ The deceased girl’s brother Pushpraj Saket alleged that on the day of the incident, the mother severely beat Ragini around 12 noon. She beat her so badly that her health deteriorated and she developed a high fever. The other brother Ravendra Saket also alleged that the stepmother used to torture her daily. She would beat her. The sister was writhing in pain and fever. When father Manoj Saket reached home in the evening, Ragini’s condition was critical. He took her to the hospital, where the doctor declared her dead. Grandmother’s allegation, ‘Injury marks all over the body’ The girl’s grandmother Gomti Saket also accused the stepmother of murder. She said that her granddaughter had injury marks all over her body. She was not taken to the hospital on time. She kept asking for water, but was not even given water. Team of three doctors conducted post-mortem The police took possession of the body and sent it to the Community Health Center in Tyonthar, where a team of three doctors conducted the post-mortem.
