In Satna, Madhya Pradesh, a disturbing motive has surfaced in the murder of 11-year-old Shivraj Rajak, a Class 5 student. Police investigation revealed that the accused was allegedly obsessed with the boy’s mother and wanted to marry her. When his advances were resisted, he allegedly targeted the child. Shivraj’s sister, Sejal, said through tears that the accused had long harboured this intention. The incident took place on Monday in Bank Colony, Siddharth Nagar. Shivraj, also known as Badal, was found murdered with his throat slit. The accused, identified as 45-year-old Mathura Rajak, allegedly hid the body inside a blue plastic drum in the house before fleeing. Additional SP Shivesh Singh Baghel said that three teams were formed to apprehend the accused. Accused Mathura Rajak is originally a resident of Sidhi district. Three police teams were engaged in searching for him. The accused was arrested on Tuesday evening. He is being interrogated. Child was alone at home at the time of incident Shivraj’s family lives a simple life. Father Ramesh Rajak works as a laborer in a factory in Nashik, Maharashtra, while mother Asha Rajak works in households. Sister Sejal is looking for a job along with her studies, and brother Shivakant works in a computer shop. On Monday morning, as usual, the mother and both siblings had gone to work. Shivraj was alone at home. Accused reached home at 10:30 AM on Monday morning On Monday, around 10:30 AM, the accused Mathura Rajak, who was in contact with the family, entered the house. He targeted the child who was alone and slit his throat with a sharp sickle. The innocent child didn’t even get a chance to recover. After the murder, the accused tried to hide the evidence. He put the body in a blue drum, put clothes on top, locked the door from outside, and fled. Sister was shocked to find the house locked when she arrived Around 1:30 PM, sister Sejal reached home and was shocked to see the door locked. She called her mother. Even after the mother arrived, when Shivraj was not found, both searched the vicinity. When they peeked through the window, they saw the fan and light on in the room, which deepened their suspicion. After this, the police were informed. Police broke the lock and entered, body found in drum The police reached the spot and broke the lock. Inside, the bed and pillows were found soaked in blood, with splatters on the walls. During the search, a blue drum kept in the room was opened, in which Shivraj’s body was found. The sickle used in the murder was kept on top of the drum. The FSL team collected evidence from the spot, and the body was sent for a post-mortem. One-sided love for a woman became the reason for murder The investigation revealed that the accused, Mathura Rajak, had been pursuing Asha Rajak for several years and was pressuring her to marry him. According to her sister Sejal and neighbors, even a day before the incident, the accused had an altercation with Asha, which escalated to a physical fight. Accused was reprimanded at the shop The police investigation also revealed that Asha worked at a nearby house. When she shared her ordeal there, the homeowner confronted Mathura at his shop on Monday morning, warning him not to harass her again. It is suspected that after this confrontation, Mathura went to Asha’s house. When he did not find her there, he allegedly carried out the brutal act on innocent Shivraj to take revenge. There had also been tension within the family. Shivraj’s father, Ramesh, who works at a tiles factory in Nashik, had returned to Satna about 15 days before the incident. Around 10 days ago, a dispute arose between him and his wife, Asha, over her returning home late, after which Ramesh left for Nayagaon. Ramesh was aware of Mathura’s obsession with Asha, and this had led to arguments between the two whenever he visited Satna.
