ultrasound-centre-sealed-in-bhind-over-registration-complaint:probe-launched-into-doctor-operating-in-2-states

The district health department sealed an ultrasound machine at Shri Banke Bihari Ultrasound Center in the Housing Colony area of Bhind after receiving a complaint. Officials said the complaint alleged that ultrasound centres were being run at multiple locations in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh under the name of the same doctor. According to the department, the centre was being operated in the name of Dr Dharmendra Dhankhar. The complaint claimed that the doctor has registered facilities in both Bhind and Barabanki in Uttar Pradesh. Rules do not allow a single doctor to operate such centres at two places at the same time. Taking note of the complaint, CMHO Dr J.S. Yadav formed a team led by DHO Dr Alok Sharma to investigate the matter. The team inspected the centre and found discrepancies in documents during the initial check. The ultrasound machine was then sealed, and the operator was asked to submit relevant documents. Documents sought, probe underway Investigating officer Dr Alok Sharma said the action was taken to verify the complaint about registrations in two states. He added that the centre has been sealed for now and a detailed inquiry is underway. If the operator fails to submit the required documents within the given time, legal action will follow. Dr Dharmendra Dhankhar has denied the allegations, stating that no other centre is being run in his name. He said he will cooperate with the investigation. The health department said further action will depend on the findings of the probe.
