All divisional commissioners and collectors have been instructed to personally monitor its implementation. During the live telecast, Anganwadi workers, women panchayat representatives, self-help group members and women officials have been directed to mandatorily attend. From villages to district headquarters, arrangements have been made to show the Prime Minister’s address on televisions or large screens collectively. Programme to last one and a half hours The live broadcast of the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Sammelan’ will be held from 11 am to 12:30 pm. What will change through ‘Nari Shakti Vandan’? With the implementation of the Nari Shakti Vandan Act (women’s reservation) moving forward, the conference is considered significant. It is expected to bring several key changes: Increased participation in decision-making: Once fully implemented, the Act will reserve 33% seats for women in the Lok Sabha and State Assemblies, giving women a direct voice in policymaking. End of symbolic representation in politics: Practices like ‘sarpanch pati’ in panchayats are expected to end with this law, bringing more educated and professional women into law-making roles. Social transformation: With women involved in legislation, more sensitive and effective policies are expected in education, health and safety, making it a major social reform. Emergence of new leadership models: The growing participation of women in startups and science will find a platform through this conference, creating new role models for the next generation.
