A stabbing incident has been reported at South Avenue Mall in the Gwarighat police station area of Jabalpur. A chef working at the mall allegedly attacked a housekeeping employee, Sanjay Ahirwar, with a knife, leaving him with a serious head injury. In his statement, injured Sanjay Ahirwar said he works as a housekeeping head boy at the mall. He had gone into the kitchen in the morning when an argument broke out over his entry into the kitchen and being assigned non-housekeeping duties. During the dispute, chef Arpit allegedly attacked him with a large knife. According to Sanjay, the attack was severe and his condition worsened after the incident. He further alleged that mall staff initially advised him to say he had fallen from the stairs in order to avoid police action. He first gave the same statement but later revealed the truth so that action could be taken against the accused. After the incident, the injured was first taken to SN Bose Hospital near Gwarighat, where he received primary treatment. He was later admitted to a private hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment. It is reported that hospital authorities did not inform the police about the serious incident.
